We are looking for a skilled Diesel Field Technician to maintain and repair vehicles and cranes.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality.
An excellent mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and engine systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must also be good communicators to provide advice to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow basic shop safety rules and accident prevention practices.
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on proper vehicle operation
- Repair or replace broken or non-functioning parts and fix issues with limited callbacks
- Maintain accurate logs/records on equipment serviced
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
- Must work in garage/shop when not on the road
- This role is on-call on the weekends
- Must have own tools
Skills and Specifications
- Proven experience as auto diesel mechanic repair (preferably 3-5 years’ experience)
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and how to identify issues and resolve issues
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (including but not limited to forklifts, cranes, etc.)
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Excellent physical condition
Education and Qualifications
- High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
- Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
