Amentum is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our team in Norfolk, VA.
As the Logistics Specialist, you will perform a variety of logistics tasks such as supply support, configuration management, and data management in support of components, equipment, and/or systems. You will coordinate and maintain visibility of request orders through the entire acquisition process in support of multiple contracts in various countries. You will interact daily with client material managers. You will plan and coordinate the ordering and distribution of products, parts, and accessories.
As the Logistics Specialist, you will perform many daily duties, including:
- Coordinating and maintaining visibility of request orders through the entire acquisition process in support of multiple contracts in various countries.
- Interacting daily with client material managers.
- Planning and coordinating the ordering and distribution of products, parts, and accessories.
- Performing inventory management, cataloging, warehouse management, coordinating materials, entering data, and supporting property control in various supply activities and/or equipment installations. Assisting technicians with equipment installations.
- Developing, executing, and maintaining reviews and comments on logistics support plans, policies, procedures, and similar data. Recommending improvements to enhance the process.
- Supporting maintenance planning systems and performing maintenance planning tasks.
- Demonstrating development and application of new systems, processes, or techniques that contribute to the achievement of business area goals.
- Applying knowledge of procedures and systems to a broad range of basic issues.
- Coordinating daily with supply chain management groups to verify requisition entry and accuracy in the Federal Supply System, tracking, and reviewing status to recommend procurement options, and monitoring shipments of material until receipt
- Monitoring request orders through the entire acquisition process and providing cataloging support for all task orders, interfacing daily with military material managers, and supporting personnel.
- Researching, analyzing, interpreting, and ensuring implementation of the latest company and government policies and guidelines for Federal Supply System usage.
- Advising management on supply operations and preparing reports and briefings on government supply chain performance standards and company metrics.
- Overseeing and performing request order entries into company logistics management systems to trigger acquisition processes.
- Assisting in training personnel on warehouse operations and supply management.
- Performing all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
- Vocational/technical training beyond high school diploma.
- 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent in material management and/or military, government, Department of Defense (DOD), or commercial supply chain.
- Experience dealing with internal and external customer requirements.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills and ability to work independently and with a team.
- Must be a United States citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance before hire.
