Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Munitions Transporter SURETY This position is designated as a chemical duty position and is subject to the requirements of the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by Army Regulation 50-6. Require routine access to chemical surety materials. Are authorized to escort visitors to areas containing chemical surety materials. Control direct access to chemical surety material. Are motor vehicle/material handling equipment operators involved in movement of chemical agents. Are operators of equipment that disassembles chemical munitions/containers or handle chemical surety materials during demilitarization operations. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / TASKS Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. Drive Modified Ammunition Van (MAV) between chemical munitions storage area and PCAPP plant. Monitor and assist with moving Overpack Pallets into and out of MAV Move Overpack Pallets into storage magazines using forklift. Complete transfer of custody documentation In case of munitions leakage, operator must unload containers in MAV Vestibule while wearing Protective Clothing and Equipment. Operate material handling equipment and serve as spotter when necessary (i.e., electric vehicles, forklifts, pallet trucks and vans). Perform minor maintenance as required. Communicate with Control Room in case of problems or malfunctions. Prepare equipment for maintenance as required. Perform housekeeping duties as required. Perform daily, weekly and monthly RCRA inspections. Make exclusion area entries as necessary to perform duties as assigned. Operate minicams to verify munitions, containers and waste are agent-free. Physically handle chemical weapons to load into the automated destruction process. Compensation & Benefits STARTING RATE: $24.36 (This position is part of a certification pay program, which provides additional pay increases as necessary training and certifications are completed. On average, a minimum of two pay increases would be obtained within the first six months of employment.) REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent and 1 year industrial experience in a demilitarization facility, chemical plant, nuclear or fossil power generating station, military, industrial service (e.g., secure facilities), warehouse, or manufacturing. Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment. Heavy Truck experience. Must be a US Citizen or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain PCAPP site access. Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts. Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and/or in a chemical demilitarization facility. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to operate forklift/forktruck or material handling lifting device. Ability to exercise good judgment in performance of duties. Demonstrated experience working in a procedurally compliant environment. Demonstrated experience working in an environmental and safety compliant environment. Experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklift or front-end loader. Ability to speak publicly and communicate clearly during normal and crisis situations. Ability to maintain composure and make decisions during normal and crisis situations. Ability to read and comprehend explicit operating procedures and plant processes. Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-orientated work. Demonstrated willingness to be a team player.
