What are the responsibilities and job description for the Simulator Model Developer position at Amentum?
The simulator model developer is responsible for maintaining the simulation and emulation software that makes up the process model to simulate the ORP-DOE Hanford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) process systems in order to train operators in the control and operation of key process systems.
The process model must be designed, maintained, and documented to meet ANSI.ANS - 3.5 Compliant Software Standards for Nuclear Facilities and DOE Orders for software quality requirements. The process model is used to train control room personnel to perform normal, off-normal, abnormal, and emergency operations in the simulator control room using equipment and controls identical to what is installed in the plant control room.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
- Support day-to-day operation and provide technical support for the process model.
- Maintains process model by translating engineering design, calculations, and technical specifications into configuration changes using an object-oriented interface software.
- Maintains detailed documentation of the process model.
- Writes test plans, analyzes test data, and documents results with test reports.
- Research, write, and help implement procedure standards for the process model.
- Supports the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent engineering field. 7 years of experience with simulation software, engineering, operations, or related technical position in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.
OR
Associates degree in engineering or related field. 9 years of experience with simulation software, engineering, operations, or related technical position in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.
OR
High school diploma and 11 years of experience with simulation software, engineering, operations, or related technical position in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.

- Using ABB software
- Using JPro software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $87,988.37 - $136,835.09 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
