What You'll Do

 JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible to manage (plan, organize, direct, and control) quality function of the entire organization including manufacturing, testing, new product integration and customer satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implement a full Quality Management System (QMS) through entire organization towards ISO certification readiness for cycling.
  • Lead development and implementation of methods to inspect, receive, test, evaluate, properly document, and continuously improve products, processes, and equipment from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
  • Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes, assessing test results and approving recommended changes.
  • Perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products to ensure products are up to industry and company standards, performing root cause analysis for processes and products that are not up to standards.
  • Conducts random inspections and quality control checks to ensure that current and existing products adhere to quality standards
  • SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing production and testing data.
  • Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods manufactured internally and externally.
  • Track products through the manufacturing process to ensure each part of the process is correct.
  • Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Responsibility for auditing of functional manufacturing areas to ensure process, personnel, and equipment consistency.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere and uphold all Company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • PERFORMANCE MEASURES

    • Compliance with Company policies (e.g., safety, quality, attendance, etc.).

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

     This job has supervisory responsibilities over non-exempt and exempt support staff. This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Regular onsite attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (R) = Required (P) = Preferred (Equivalent combinations will be considered)

     

    (R) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.

    (R) 10 years of progressive quality experience, with at least five (5 ) years in a quality engineer or similar role and three (3 ) years in a quality management role highly preferred.

    (R) Proficiency with Microsoft Office program skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

    (R) Ability to use a computer/tablet/keyboard.

    (R) Ability to write professional reports, business correspondence, create graphs and presentations.

    (R) Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.

    (R) Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.

    (R) Carbon fiber and manufacturing experience; cycling experience preferred.

    (R) Operational Excellence mentality with diverse and profound hands-on Continuous Improvement methodology experience (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), etc.).

    (R) Familiarity with new product development and technology transfer.

    (R) Experience in certification readiness.

    (R) Experience in formulating policy, developing, and implementing new strategies and procedures.

    • Possess excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively across the department and all levels of the organization.
    • Exhibit leadership, including strong attention to detail, analytical skills, solid decision making skills, solid problem solving skills, a strong work ethic and an ability to manage and lead others in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to exhibit tact and diplomacy handling conflict management, subordinate development, subordinate direction, managing and measuring performance, motivating, building team spirit and morale, and understanding diverse viewpoints.
    • Supervision, safety management, data entry management, information analysis, reporting, time management, equipment maintenance, and organization skills.
    • Strong project management skills including an ability to plan, prioritize, delegate when appropriate, and manage multiple projects successfully.
    • Demonstrate values of integrity, respect for others accountability, a strong bias for action and be data-driven.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

    PHYSICAL / VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to work in a typical office environment as well as a loud manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures.
    • Requires sitting for long periods of time at a keyboard but can also require standing for lengthy periods of time as well. In addition, walking, using hands to feel, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, or stretching are required to perform the functions of this position.
    • Regularly required to talk and hear.
    • Must be able to occasionally lift product, supplies and materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
    • Must be able to travel by car and air; 10-20% annually.
