Coordinates with Trust Officer the management and administration of a group of trust accounts. Responsible for providing customer services to clients, cultivating customer relationships and account maintenance.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinates with trust officer the administration of trust, foundations, or custody accounts according to the directives in the will, trust document, foundation document or custody agreement, applicable statues and regulations.
- Interact with trust officers in estate proceedings and in trust / foundations situations when necessary.
- Prepare in coordination with the trust officers 60-day and annual administrative reviews for new and existing relationships.
- Maintain up to date all trust / foundations / escrows / custody physical files in accordance with Amerant Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain up to date in coordination with the trust officers all KYC / CIP documentation for Settlers / Founders / Beneficiaries / Buyers and Sellers in accordance with Amerant Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Performs maintenance of all trust / foundation / escrow / custody information within Amerant Bank’s core system by inputting all relationship data.
- Update and maintain all trust / foundations / escrows / custody relationship information within Amerant Bank’s core system.
Including, but not limited to diaries, change of addresses, phone numbers, name changes, etc.
- Act as liaison between Trust Officers and Operations.
- Processes general correspondence with clients and vendors of fiduciary group.
- Assist with completion of Reg 9 and reports.
- Achieves client service goals as established by Supervisor and Senior Management.
- Interacts with external Trust service providers.
- Provides support for regulatory-driven projects.
- Identify and report to immediate supervisor any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules, regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.
- Works closely with Trust Operations Unit to ensure that operations requirements are met.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate annual meetings with existing clients
- Keep current with laws and regulations affecting the Trust Business including regulation 9, Banking and Probate code
- Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues.
- To identify, evaluate, monitor and make any recommendation deemed necessary to their respective Trust Investment and Management Committee in order to assess, reduce, eliminate or control any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.
Minimum Education and / or Certifications Requirements :
Two-year Associates degree (Bachelors degree preferred) in Legal or Business. Trust certification is preferred
Minimum Work Experience Requirements :
4 years of Trust / Wealth Management / Private Banking experience required. Some banking experience a must. Prior trusts administrative experience or legal experience in wealth management probate, trusts, estate planning, and fiduciary preferable.
Technical and / or Other Essential Knowledge :
Previous experience with Internet and MS Office, including MS Word Level I and MS Excel Level I required. Bilingual English / Spanish.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively oral communication and written skills with beneficiaries and professional associates.
Must be very well organized to manage multiple tasks. Must have excellent organizational skills. Must be able to appropriately prioritize and organize tasks in a complex and dynamic environment.
Must be committed to promoting best practices in the application of policies, procedures and other elements of governance affecting trust administration throughout the organization.
Must be able to work effectively both with teams and as a sole individual to complete tasks.
