What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Technician position at Ameresco?
Ameresco currently seeks a qualified DDC Control Technician to support Ameresco’s growing control responsibilities on Operation and Maintenance sites in Cherry Point, NC.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge in servers, network equipment and in use of personal computers with MS Office and equivalents
Knowledge in construction contracting industry with specific emphasis in mechanical / electrical fields and specific experience in field service.
Proven experience in BACnet, Lon Works and Modbus protocols
Experience integrating third party devices and software
Provide site operator training on local DDC systems
Interface with owners and owners representatives
Service and troubleshooting, both on site and phone support of existing control systems
Conduct Preventive Maintenance repairs and replacements but not limited to facilities DDC systems, VFD and electrical control systems for use in automation control equipment and systems
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Trade school or Vocational High School Degree
Minimum of 5 years applicable DDC experience required.
Valid driver’s license.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Must have excellent knowledge of operating and servicing entire building and support systems including HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic, DDC and building safety equipment.
Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practice, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and Ameresco standards.
Also must be capable of reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and operational manuals associated with his/her work.
Must be quality-focused and customer service oriented.
Distech and Tridium control experience and or certification helpful.
Must have a valid DC driver’s license.
Certifications and previous experience in other DDC systems such as JCI, Honeywell, Automated logic etc.
Experience working with SCADA
