America On Tech is an award-winning, early pipeline technology talent accelerator on a mission to decrease the racial wealth gap by creating pathways for underestimated students to thrive in technology and innovation. To date, we have worked with 3,500 students by leveraging the time, talent and expertise of technology professionals to teach our tuition-free courses and help provide work-based internships and learning programs to promote the advancement of underestimated students into technology. Who We Are Looking For: 

​We are currently looking for a Student Recruitment and Admissions Manager who will work closely with the Miami Program Director to develop and implement a student recruitment and admissions strategy for AOT programs in Miami.  The ideal Recruitment and Admissions Manager is excited about sharing AOT’s opportunities with the Miami community and is able to ensure a seamless student experience from application to enrollment.

The ideal candidate is able to balance systems and big-picture thinking with the operationalization of tasks and an eye for detail.

The Student Recruitment and Admissions Manager will report to the Miami Program Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and implement a recruitment strategy to meet enrollment goals for all Miami programs that includes in-person gatherings and events at schools and community centers as well as virtual spaces 
  • Work collaboratively with Communications Manager to integrate virtual recruitment campaigns on social media platforms 
  • Coordinate external communication with schools, community-based organizations and other recruitment pipelines to inform them about open admissions into programs and application deadlines 
  • Field questions from prospective student candidates, their schools and/or their families 
  • Evaluate student candidate qualifications based on their applications/interviews to determine appropriate eligibility for participation
  • Manage admissions cycle for all student applicants, including communication of application status and enrollment steps via Salesforce
  • Work collaboratively with Miami Program Team to share program rosters and accepted student information prior to program launches
  • Manage, implement, and refine admissions process to meet enrollment goals for all Miami programs using Salesforce CRM and other digital databases and tools 
  • Gather and analyze recruitment and admissions data, preparing regular descriptive, statistical, and evaluative reports
  • Use data to inform innovation and enhancement of current student recruitment activities and engagement 
  • As part of a growing organization, contribute toward the development of standard operating procedures in all areas of business, and continue to find new ways to improve quality and efficiency
  • Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice and to support the growth of AOT

Qualifications:

  • You have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in the non-profit sector / education sector, particularly in recruitment and admissions
  • You have knowledge of the Miami tech / ed tech ecosystem 
  • You have superior interpersonal, customer service and community relationship-building abilities
  • You are a people person and enjoy connecting with new contacts
  • You have strong project management experience and can manage multiple projects and priorities seamlessly
  • You are the person that your colleagues naturally gravitate to when they are trying to figure something out
  • You are an excellent, engaging communicator - both in oral and written presentation 
  • You are excited to collaborate with others and work effectively in a multicultural team
  • You are comfortable working through ambiguity and in dynamic environments where priorities sometimes shift
  • You have experience working in a remote environment, and use of requisite tools (i.e. video conferencing, messaging, etc.)
  • You are proficient in Google Suite (especially Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets and Google Classroom)

Preferred, but not required:
 
  • Experience using Salesforce and/or other CRM tools (training will be provided)
  • Experience using Mailchimp and/or other email marketing services
  • Experience using FormAssembly
