Today we are recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager/ Supply Chain Manager based at our company headquarters in Arlington, Massachusetts.

In this role, you will oversee the activities of all purchasing and inventory control departments. This role will manage the company's materials inventory, develop purchasing strategies, and directly control the purchasing teams in their daily activities of sourcing suppliers and purchasing products, equipment, and services.  Additionally, you will develop and drive comprehensive companywide enhancements with a focus on reducing costs and improving margins as they implement industry best practices.

The details: You will collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize the efficiency of purchasing and inventory control across all branches of the company. You will lead the company in the development and implementation of both a companywide EDI interface and a Bar-Coding system for all physical inventory purchasing, control, and tracking. In addition, you will develop and implement policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory rates. You will become the Subject Matter Expert (S.M.E.) for our companywide inventory software, so you can drive the required enhancements to improve the overall warehouse and inventory performance. Manages Fleet Policies and vehicles and works closely with our chosen Fleet provider.

What you need to apply: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of Purchasing/ Supply Chain Management experience with increasing responsibility.  Excellent understanding of EDI systems.  You will have proven negotiation skills, ability to take initiative and handle numerous priorities at once.  Strong leaderships, problem solving and communications skills a must. A bachelor’s degree in a Business or related field with coursework in purchasing or inventory control.  High proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.  APICS or Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred.  

Compensation:  Highly competitive salary, based on experience, a company vehicle. plus company profit sharing.
