Position: Head Gymnastics Coach (Part-Time)
Hours: 16-25 hours per week

Starting Pay: $13 per hour
Pay Range: $13-$16 per hour

As the Head Gymnastics Coach at AAGI Gymnastics, you'll play a crucial role in leading our tumbling program to new heights. You'll work closely with our Director and coaching team to ensure the highest quality of instruction and support for our athletes.

Responsibilities:

• Coaching Excellence: Lead gymnastics classes and training sessions, providing expert instruction and guidance to athletes of all skill levels. Uphold AAGI standards for safety, technique, and professionalism in every coaching session.
• Program Leadership: Collaborate with the Director to design class curriculums, implement quality control measures, and conduct coach training and development sessions. Serve as a source of leadership and inspiration for our coaching staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with the Director, fellow Head Coaches, and other staff members. Participate in daily check-ins and team meetings to ensure alignment and cohesion within the tumbling program.
• Mentorship and Support: Provide mentorship and support to flex coaches, assisting them in their coaching responsibilities and helping them grow and develop as instructors. Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and a positive attitude at all times.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience coaching gymnastic, with a strong understanding of gymnastics technique and progression.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate athletes and coaches alike.
• Reliable and punctual, demonstrating a commitment to upholding AAGI standards and values.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to assist in class design, quality control, and coach training initiatives.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Afternoon Hours: Recreational gymnastics classes are held Monday through Thursday 3:30-8 pm

Optional weekend hours and additional pay include events, open gyms, clinics, parents' night out, and birthday parties.

All new coaches to the AAGI staff will undergo a training period to learn and implement our training curriculum for each program level before being given their classes. Information on class skills and goals is listed below:

Beginner Gymnastics- Beginner classes at AAGI are for kids 5 . In this introductory class, students will learn the fundamentals of all four Olympic Events, Vault, Bars, beam, and floor. We will focus on building strength, improving mobility/motor skills, and flexibility, as well as learning the confidence it takes to be a gymnast! Skill Highlight: Backward/Forward Roll, Handstand and Cartwheel, Walking on High Beam with confidence, proper running form, and building upper body strength

Intermediate Gymnastics- This class is designed to maintain the fundamentals previously implemented in beginner classes while introducing & progressing intermediate skills. A stronger emphasis on strength, flexibility, and technique will be applied. Skills Highlight- Backbend, round-offs on Floor. Pullover & Back Hip Circle on Bars. Levers on Beam. Handstand flatback on Vault. Prerequisite: Handstand, Cartwheel, Walks on High Beam, Upper body strength.

Xcel Gymnastics- This is a more advanced level class for our more experienced gymnasts who have met all the developmental requirements in our beginner and intermediate level classes. Increased strength and flexibility will allow them to learn more complex skills that will continue to challenge them and further their gymnastics
