CNC Operator

About This Position:

AAE is seeking CNC Operators to join our 2nd Shift crews. This full-time hourly position is in Roscoe, IL. Our 2nd Shift is scheduled from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday thru Friday with occasional overtime on Saturdays based on weekly production.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the operation of machine shop equipment, including vertical HAAS machines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, setting stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Run parts as per specifications, observing machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
• Cross-train, learn and support other functions or processes as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Basic CNC operating knowledge.
• Knowledge in the proper use and care of tools and devices required to complete work.
• Ability to complete accurate documentation and work on computers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, working safely.
• Flexible to work overtime or change shifts as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
• A minimum of one years’ experience in machining.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
• Ability to lift and move parts/equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb up/down ladders and stairs, negotiate uneven or moving surfaces, and work at varying heights.
