The overall objective of the Project Manager is to lead the end-to-end lifecycle project management of multiple large, and complex efforts for strategic IT projects, using the established project management guidelines at ABC Supply. The Project Manager will also drive changes to the project management guidelines of the PMO to improve the overall project and PMO performance.
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager include:
- Direct strategic initiatives or divisional level projects of the highest complexity and impact
- Coordinate the management of multiple, large IT projects running concurrently in a matrixed environment
- Continuous improvement ideas and inputs provided, utilizing a solid understanding of basic and advanced project management principles
- Responsible to assist with mentoring and training of project managers, identifying project manager related training needs
- May be asked to assist with the project manager candidate interview and selection process
Shared with the Information Technology Project Manager role:
- Responsible for successful project management on assigned projects, championing the PMO processes, templates, tools, and methodologies.
- Will lead by example and enforce standard project management policies and guidelines as set forth by the IT PMO to ensure consistency and standardization in approach
- Lead the planning and implementation of IT projects using the established ABC process and tools.
- Seeks out project team member and stakeholder feedback, inputs and recommendations in all project planning phases and activities, ensuring a cohesive team environment
- Create and actively update end to end project plan and project timeline
- Drives project activities and project team members forward in all project phases and gates
- Coordinate the work effort of a project with assigned resources.
- Lead weekly (at a minimum) project status meetings with full project team, providing full review and management of project plan.
- Participate in cross project planning to resolve conflicts in project priorities, resourcing, schedule, budget, and scope.
- Provide weekly status reports to the PMO and project team in a standard format. Highlight project issues and risks that could cause the project to not meet expectations and provide a go forward plan. Highlight change requests and follow the approval process.
- Escalate high priority and blocking issues to the PMO Manager.
- Active identification and on-going follow-up and management of all open action items, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Provide polished and timely portfolio status report updates utilizing the PMO standards.
- Expectation of onsite work at least one day a week, however this can vary and is subject to change, depending on the needs of the project and PMO department.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Master’s Degree in Business or Information Technology is desirable, but not required
Certificates and experience:
PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred, but not required
Minimum of 7-10 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of end-to-end system development life cycle
