American Care Academy is seeking educators that are passionate about early childhood development and progressive education. . This position is for eligible candidates looking to pursue or continue a career as an educator. Eligible candidates must have experience in a licensed childcare facility or an equivalent in education. This position will require continuous progression of education and training in childhood development and early childhood education.
POSITION TITLE: EHS Infant Teacher
DEPARTMENT: Early Head Start
Position reports to: Director
POSITION PURPOSE:
EHS Teachers are co-teachers and share the following responsibilities while providing responsive and nurturing care to children ages 0-3: (A) working closely with each other to design and implement an age-appropriate educational program; (B) organizing and maintaining the classroom environment; (C) developing individual portfolio for each child; (D) working with parents and volunteers to improve their own parenting skills; and (E) working with other staff members to encourage each child’s overall growth and development. Each co-teacher is primarily responsible for four assigned children in the above areas.
Education: College degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or a degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education, with experience teaching pre-school children.
An associate’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with infant/ toddler endorsement
