SUMMARY
This position is based out of Brilliant, OH. We are looking for an entry-level Maintenance Trainee that has the ability to expand upon their basic knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, and repair as it relates to diesel-powered heavy equipment. A worthy candidate will be exposed to rebuilds & diagnostics of both gasoline & diesel engines, welding and fabricating, powertrains, transmissions, electrical systems, as well as hydraulics.

Pay Type: Salary Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $42,640 - $46,840 (w/Production Bonus)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- General cleanliness & readiness of work vehicle, work area & shop.
- Provide Support to Field Diesel Mechanic, when on assignment with them on repairs.
- Disassembly, Salvage, Cleaning of machine components.
- Unload, Catalog, and Stage-for-Next Shift, maintenance items (e.g. filters, fluids), organizing in correct locations within storage.
- Salvage & Catalog automotive components, storage in assigned locations.
- Small Gasoline Engine Service & Repairs (e.g. water pumps, chainsaws, etc.)
- Medium Diesel Engine Services & Repairs (e.g. water pumps, welder, etc.)
- Disassembly & Re-Sealing of small hydraulic cylinders in shop.
- Pickup Truck & Trailer Servicing – routine oil, air, fuel, rubber, brakes, and general cleaning (power-washing), troubleshooting & resolving minor electrical (lighting, horns, leaks, etc.)
- Daily Completion & submittal of tasks performed to supervisor.
Experience
- Entry-Level
- Valid Certification (e.g. Diesel Engine Repair, Welding, Fabricating) is a definite plus
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of diagnostics
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers)
- Good physical condition
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication is required
- Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
- Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicants religious practices)
- Ability to travel as needed in local areas (WV, OH, PA – within shift)
- Steady Day Light shift.
- Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
- Ability to push/pull as needed
- Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
- Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50 pounds as needed.
