1.SUMMARY

Team member for Shipping Department with shipping/ receiving experience. Must be proficient in accurate data entry and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Experience with UPS computer system preferred. Must follow all OSHA and company Safety Regulations at all times.

2. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enter data into PC shipping programs
• Assist Sales team with shipping inquiries
• Use internet Freight view to input BOL information for shipments
• Monitors stock inventory by reporting discrepancies
• Clears shipping area by securing and moving finished pallets and moving empty pallets
• Documents actions by logging movements of supplies, materials and finished goods
• Enter data into UPS desk to create labels and shipping data in UPS system for transportation
• Verify all pulled orders match BOL shipping papers exactly prior to loading trucks and containers
• Load LTL and truck loads efficiently and safely without error
• Maintain a safe work environment by watching out for foot traffic; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
• Keeps forklift operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and safety training
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job
• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
• Pull finished products and parts in accordance with orders and corresponding paperwork
• Organize items within the Shipping Department by safely stacking pallets and crates without causing any damage
• Maintains inventory in Shipping area by anticipating and tracking usage

3. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of experience operating electric forklift preferred
• Ability to deal with varying temperatures as warehouse is not air conditioned
• Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time
• Timeliness and regular attendance is required; this position will be from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mo-Th, some Fridays and rare Saturdays may be required
• Candidate has to be a strong Team player
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way

This is not an office position and candidates may need to lift materials up to 50 pounds, package smaller shipments or assist with loading and unloading as well as shipment staging operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
