Opening in 2019, American Dream is approximately 3 million square feet and will redefine the customer experience in shopping and leisure with a unique combination of retail, dining, technology, entertainment and attractions - all in one location. ABOUT THE ROLE
The main purpose of the Paralegal is:
To provide assistance in the preparation and drafting of lease agreements, abstracting leases, lease administration, related legal documents and to provide some administrative support to the Legal Department.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Prepare initial draft and mange lease agreements and related documents for potential and current tenants
- Modify agreements and documents using both Word and PDF
- Lease administration, including tracking deadlines and lease provisions
- Abstracting leases
- Creating and maintaining lease review charts for key lease provisions
- Preparing and sending tenant notices
- Manage and follow up on the litigation files, including the initial responses for Interrogatories and Request for Production of Documents for attorney review.
- Manage bankruptcy filings and prepare documentation for outside counsel.
- Prepare and process legal bills
- Answer phones, open mail and place follow-up calls
- Schedule meetings and coordinate calendars for the legal department
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience with a leasing or litigation emphasis preferred
- Experience in the preparation of lease agreements and/or related legal documents
- Ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in MS Office and PDF formatting
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
