What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL ASSISTANT position at American Endovascular?
Medical Assistants assist Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians in providing all aspects of direct and indirect patient care. Poses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Escorting patients between procedure room and pre/post area.
- Assists in the tracking, ordering and receiving of inventory supplies
- Assists in completing procedural reports
- Obtains a thorough Medical/Surgical History, Medications, Allergies, and Advanced Directives.
- Correctly document all patient care activities in the patient medical record.
- Obtains lab work as assigned
- Promptly report any changes in a patients condition to a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician.
- Assist patients with their basic needs, such as eating, drinking, dressing, bathing and personal hygiene.
- Maintains close communication with RN/NP/Physicians and healthcare team members to understand the patients status and needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment completing multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Basic math skills
- Ability to listen, comprehend, and process a variety of detailed information
- Prepares supplies needed for the overall care of the patient
- Can verbalizes signs/symptoms of physical, sexual, mental, medical, or emotional abuse
- Assist Physicians and Nurses in educating patient and family on the nature of the care required and therapies being provided.
- Other accountability as assigned
High School Graduate
Medical Assistant School Graduate
Registered Medical Assistant issued by the state.
Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support
