Job Title: Mobile Equipment Mechanic
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday.
Overtime as required. Weekend on-call as needed.
Full or Part Time: Full-time only
JOB SUMMARY:
The responsibilities of the Mobile Equipment Mechanic include:
Perform preventative maintenance on Semi-Trucks, Belly Dump, End dump, & Flatbed trailers.
Perform preventative maintenance on Plant forklifts & Front-end Loaders.
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Maintaining spare parts inventory
Other general maintenance duties as required.
Safety & quality will always be part of the daily operation to provide a safe workplace and to produce the highest quality product possible.
This position also maintains required records of DOT maintenance requirements.

Track completion of preventative maintenance & repairs.

Experienced in welding & fabrication.
Able to follow procedures and react to conditions outside of set guidelines.
Able to operate mobile equipment.
Able to perform frequent visual inspections of equipment and supplies.
Class A CDL is required with Doubles/Triples Endorsement.
Ability to read, write and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions.
Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics.
Ensure compliance with DOT & MSHA regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Maintain equipment in compliance with DOT standards.
Control downtime by performing preventative maintenance as required.
Report & Repair potentially unsafe conditions.
Order and pick up parts from vendors.
Attend & participate in scheduled safety meetings.
Demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and thoroughness.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Must be flexible with job duties; may be required to fill in on other jobs when the business or organization is short-handed.
Participate in weekend On-call rotation shared with other employees.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
5 years diesel mechanic experience, preferably experience in DOT Standards
Computer experience required.
Welding experience required.
Ability to obtain MSHA Part 48 certification.
Ability to read & interpret documents such as manuals and labels. Ability to fill out all paperwork associated with job.
Class A CDL required with Doubles/Triples Endorsement
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:
This position is performed primarily in a heated shop.
The shop includes a 5-ton overhead hoist, in-floor pit, and various shop tools.
Position also required periodic work outdoors in various environments.
Periodic exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dry and windy environment.
While performing job duties, regular exposure to loud noises, dust, and vibration.
The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, and catwalks as required.
Lift weights up to 50 lbs.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekend on-call as needed.
Will be required to provide basic hand, electric, and pneumatic tools up to 1”. Specialty and replacement tools are provided by the company.
