We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Vice President, Heart Challenge in our Eagan office.  The VP will be part of a 4-person team that oversees our Twin Cities Heart Challenge campaign, with a focus on our Heart Walk event.  The VP will serve in a player/coach role and will provide direct coaching and supervision to three fundraising professionals.  This position will have direct responsibility in recruiting and managing executive volunteer leadership and securing individual and corporate giving.  Will work closely with internal partners to ensure unified health and revenue efforts for the Heart Walk and other campaign events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach assigned staff to reach revenue and other campaign related goals.
  • Engage, recruit, and mobilize corproate and community leaders to serve on Heart Challenge volunteer leadership committees and chair the campaign to ensure fundraising and health outcome success.
  • Prospect, secure, and manage local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
  • In collaboration with internal partners, oversee integrated planning processes for the Heart Challenge’s health and revenue efforts.
  • Handle the annual team cycle for the digital experiences/events including securing corporate participation, goal setting, recruitment of team captains, and motivating team members.
  • Execute digital experience/event logistics based on national best practices.

 

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.
  • 3 years of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the 3-year related experience requirement.  Experience gained through direct internal work on AHA projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.
  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 50%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
