American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 88 acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. Job Description:

  • Provide effective leadership, supervision, and management oversight to counseling services, residential life and student conduct, health services, student engagement, campus recreation, and the APEX Program. Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and student-centered services within these units.

  • Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with external organizations, including businesses, educational institutions, international institutions, and community organizations. Collaborate with academic departments and faculty to identify partnership opportunities aligned with the College's strategic goals and academic programs. Work closely with academic departments to develop collaborative programs, joint degrees, and certificate programs with partner organizations. Ensure the alignment of program offerings with industry demands and emerging trends. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners, industry leaders, and community representatives. Serve as the primary point of contact for partner organizations and coordinate ongoing collaboration efforts. Work with the Institutional Advancement and Grants offices to solicit external funding opportunities to innovate and expand academic support programs.

  • Provide leadership for the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (CETLS) which will include the supervision of one (1) Instructional Designer/Technologist and one (1) Coordinator of Faculty Development.

  • Assist in the Division's assessment processes and support development of meaningful and measurable institution, program, and course student-learning outcomes. Assist the EVPAA and deans on NECHE and other programmatic accreditation reports.

  • Serve in the absence of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. Serve as a member of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs leadership team and partner with other colleagues to address emerging issues, provide leadership to new initiatives, and achieve the goals of the Division of Academic Affairs.

  • Collaborate with various departments, including academic affairs, admissions, marketing, and student services, to ensure seamless implementation and support of collaborative programs. Represent AIC at community and outside organization functions.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Requirements:

  • Required Degree(s): Earned Master's degree; Demonstrated progress towards a doctoral degree in educational leadership, administration, curriculum/teaching, or a related field.

  • Preferred Degree(s): Earned Doctoral degree in educational leadership, administration, curriculum/teaching, or a related field

  • Required Field of Expertise: 8-10 years of experience developing and building academic partnerships in higher education. Experience developing curriculum and managing academic programs. Experience working with student life units. Experience teaching at the collegiate level.

  • Preferred Field of Expertise: 10-12 years of experience developing and building partnerships in higher education.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.

  • Ability to identify opportunities, analyze data, and make informed decisions.

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Possess leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Work collaboratively in a diverse environment.

  • Must possess ability to work with a diverse student population and an understanding of contemporary issues facing students.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in areas of academic and student affairs, including curriculum, student support, retention and success programming.



Additional Information:

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt level, benefit-eligible position. Normal office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department. Night and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of the position.
