What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2023-2024 Automotive Program Teacher position at American Leadership Academy?
American Leadership Academy Applied Technology School is now accepting applications for Automotive Program Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.
The Automotive program Instructor will develop curriculum and provide instruction for the ALA Applied Technologies automotive program. The courses emphasize safety, procedures, equipment and tool use while preparing students to take various ASE exams for certification.
Job expectations include, but are not limited to:
- Daily classroom instruction as aligned to approved lesson plans.
- Ensure that all school and district policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents, school personnel, and members of the public.
- Submit grades and attendance according to the procedures of the school.
- Prepare classroom and lab for instruction.

Automotive Technology Program Teacher requirements are:
- Certificate in The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Industrial and Emerging Technologies Occupational Area
- Automotive Licenses (ASE or NATEF)
- Previous work experience as an automotive instructor preferred
- 3 years working as a Automotive Technician
- Experience with teaching preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Patient and understanding
