Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review, and evaluation of the district’s curriculum.
  • Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators.
  • Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers.
  • Work positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals.
  • Work closely with instructional coaches focusing on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction for teachers.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and formative assessment
  • Provide leadership and expertise in teaming structures for systematic school improvement (e.g. Building Leadership Teams, Instructional Professional Learning Communities)
  • Facilitate systematic personnel development and systems supports in scientifically, research based instruction and intervention (planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring)
  • Evaluating, supporting, and coaching educational professionals
  • Keep abreast of current educational research and practices; • Providing professional learning activities
  • Develop protocols, manuals, and resources that support the implementation of the CSD Academic framework
  • Work with assistant directors to complete grants to sustain funding and support innovative practices
  • Participate on District teams and committees
  • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively and collegially with other instructional coaches, curriculum specialists, and district specialists.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and Mastery Connect.
  • Able to create data protocols, and understands how to aggregate and analyze data reports.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

1. Current teaching license

2. Master’s degree from an accredited college/university.

3. Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience.

4. Demonstrated knowledge of Utah Core Standards

5. Experience in research-based instructional practices

6. Knowledge and experience in:

a) Classroom instruction

b) Instructional coaching

c) Adult learning theory

d) Organizational change

7. Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations

8. Ability to design and deliver quality professional development

9. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing

10. Demonstrated strength in organization, efficiency, and communication skills

11. Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team

12. Demonstrated interest in professional learning, growth, and reflection

Working Environment:

Note: Curriculum Directors are not school administrators and will not evaluate nor supervise employees.

Physical Requirements - Not limited to the following:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Curriculum Director is regularly required to speak and/or hear. The Curriculum Director is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • The coach must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

* This position is on a 220 work day calendar.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $108,708.00 per year
