American Lumper Services is a growing nationwide warehouse management company with the goal of providing steady jobs to hard-working individuals. We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced OD Grinder to join our gear manufacturing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate and maintain OD grinding machines to produce high-quality gears according to specifications.
Shift:
Monday-Friday, 5 days 6am – 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
The site may operate 6 days per week.
Pay rate:
$18.00/hr - $23.00/hr. (weekly pay) for 1st shift

Description:
The OD Grinder will work closely with the engineering and machining teams to ensure efficient production and adherence to quality standards.
· Set up and operate OD grinding machines to grind and finish gears to required dimensions and tolerances.
· Review work orders, blueprints, and specifications to understand gear requirements.
· Select appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and tooling based on gear specifications.
· Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure machine readiness and safety.
· Load gears onto grinding machines and make necessary adjustments for proper positioning and alignment.
· Monitor grinding process, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired gear dimensions and surface finish.
· Inspect finished gears using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
· Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool replacement.
· Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions or operational issues.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience operating OD grinding machines in a gear manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding gear specifications.
· Strong knowledge of grinding principles, techniques, and tooling.
· Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and ability to interpret dimensional tolerances.
· Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
· Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
