AMSG Crew Boat 100 Ton Captain Job Description
American Marine Corporation is seeking Crew Boat Captains for our water-taxi business in the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

About the Opportunity:
American Marine operates a fleet of crew boats that transfer personnel and cargo from ports to ships/tankers. Candidates must have 1 year of recent experience as a Captain. Our employees have public contact, therefore we are looking for candidates who take pride in their appearance, have superb customer service, and communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the safety of the crew and vessel at all times
· Operate launches, load/unload cargo, and assist with passenger needs safely
· Enforces crew and passenger safety
· Ensure all operations are in compliance with company policies and procedures
· Coordinates repair and maintenance with vessel operations to minimize vessel downtime and cost of repairs, while maintaining the professional operation and appearance of the vessel
· Conduct regular inspections of all interior and exterior areas and report findings to Operations Manager
· Ensure vessel maintains sufficient fuel, water, and lube oil for the intended functions
· Participate in USCG inspections
· Perform other tasks as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
· 100 Ton Merchant Mariner Credential
· Strong boat handling skills
· TWIC
· Team player, leadership skills and have ability to work independently
Conditions of Employment:
Pre-employment background, physical and drug testing required.
Physical Demands:
Work outside in conditions of both hot and cold temperatures. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom, to climb ladders and to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. Transfer safely between vessels and from dock to vessel and vice versa. Exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially hazardous equipment. Ability to board vessels in rough weather and various sea conditions.
