PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This is entry-level position performs the day-to-day processing for CTS Financial Services. The IT expense analyst is responsible for working with various stakeholders and management within Corporate Technology Services and corporate finance/accounting groups to analyze and ensure the accuracy of CTS-related financial information and allocations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates and enters journal entries.
- Reviews ledgers for the general ledger (GL) account and cost center accuracy.
- Records transactions by the posting date, company, general ledger account number, cost center, line of business, and state.
- Participates in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing process.
- Analyzes and adjusts accruals and verifies appropriate allocation of expenses by company, general ledger account, and cost center.
- Assists in preparing monthly variance analyses for an assigned functional area.
- Performs reconciliation between CTS purchase order (PO) requisitions, PO receipts, vendor invoices, and accounts payable (AP) disbursements.
- Reconciles vendor accounts, receiving purchase order lines to release payment and working with AP for timely invoice processing.
- Budgets time to learn the IT financial management system, learning the applications and use of system codes, ABC costing methodology and IT cost model, ITFM allocation process, and the flow through SAP allocation process
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Associate degree with additional work experience will be considered.
- One to two years of experience.
- General understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- The position is physically comfortable; essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting and temperature; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience with SAP is a plus
