American National seeks a Director of Business Analysis to oversee a team of analysts, remove project roadblocks, influence stakeholders, and advocate for innovation.
- Elevate team member performance and seek ongoing opportunity to improve all aspects of the business analysis and project implementation processes
- Level set goals that meet company objectives while driving enhancements to team productivity and work quality
- Partner with project managers and stakeholders to develop project charters/business plans and assist in presenting charters to the executive committee for approval
- Execute responsibilities critical to the implementation of large and complex projects with regular senior leader touch points
- Maintain in-depth knowledge across a broad range of property and casualty operations, industry regulations, and product knowledge
- Continuously assess new applications and technologies to improve departmental/organizational performance
- Actively engage with industry peers to gain insight into new methods and practices
- Effectively collaborate with Corporate Technology Services and business area managers to develop compressive solutions to current and anticipated obstacles
- Five years of project management and/or business analyst work experience
- Four years of formal supervisory/management experience
- Ability to Influence Others -Voice of the business / Move forward projects
- Maintain and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skill; Successfully creating/maintaining professional relationships and being comfortable managing difficult conversations with ease and confidence
- Ability to utilize critical analysis skills
- Ability to work independently
- Detail oriented
- Ability to effectively manage time and provide appropriate follow-up
- Ability to navigate various computer programs simultaneously while utilizing noted applications (Microsoft Office and internal systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Business Analysis or Project Management professional designations or certifications
- Familiar with AGILE methodology and Scrum practices
- Property and Casualty Underwriting experience (Workflow type projects)
- Duck Creek system familiarity
Please note this is an in-office position in Springfield, MO, League City, TX, or Glenmont, NY.
Salary for this position can range from $115,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $137,000 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
