Job Posting for Disaster Response Volunteer - Yakima County at American Red Cross
*Please note this is a volunteer position.
Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers provides emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.
Depending on the situation, volunteers provide in-person and virtual service response. This could include delivery of resources, opening and operating a shelter after a major disaster, or providing canteen service to first responders during an emergency.
DAT Volunteers must be able to demonstrate:
- Care and Compassion
- Impartiality and Empathy
- Active listening
- A self-starter, dependable, and flexible.
TIME COMMITMENT
- Volunteering: Requires availability to be “on-call” for 3 days a month each month. (Days and/or nights, weekends).
*Please note this is an unpaid volunteer position.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $0.01 per year
Expected hours: 1 per week
Schedule:
- On call
