We are seeking an Accounting Manager for our Biddeford, Maine location who will not only perform technical and administrative accounting work but will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, as well as, compliance assistance under the direction of the Controller. The position serves as the point person for general ledger maintenance and reconciliation, performance of various weekly, monthly and quarterly period end closing procedures and maintenance of contract documents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• General ledger maintenance and reconciliation
  • Perform general ledger maintenance & reconciliation; timely and accurate accounting is essential
  • Preparing and entering journal entries as needed to correct any items out of reconciliation
• Complile monthly financial data for internal reporting to be reviewed with supervisor
• Meet fluid accounting requirements from the parent company by responding with flexibility and applying appropriate resources
• Work closely with Purchasing & Project Management to evaluate project costs and coding to ensure proper billing and accounting for our active programs
• Own the Accounts Receivable process from invoicing to customer statement reconciliation
  • Act as point of contact with issues revolving around Accounts Receivable
• Actively maintain reconciliations and spreadsheets relating to DCAA compliance
  • Ensure inventory accuracy with timely inventory analysis. Working with operations in continually closing Manufacturing Orders and investigating any differences to help maintain the accuracy of our inventory system
  • Confirm and enter weekly cycle count totals and confirm with warehouse of differences
• Act as backup to the accounts payable process including invoicing, payable review, and ability to submit payments as needed
• Support the Controller and Accounting Department by performing other assigned duties
