Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Vice President of Education and Professional Development in our Arlington, VA location. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and execution of all aspects of the American Society of Military Comptrollers (‘ASMC’ or ‘the Society’) training, education, and professional development activities. This role will also ensure the Society's education and professional development program activities take advantage of opportunities to collaborate with other organizations (such as defense learning institutions, universities, and ASMC corporate members) to develop and provide all types of training opportunities (including on-site, virtual, and hybrid), taking advantage of the latest technology available in the realm of delivery of training and education.
This is a hybrid position with two onsite days: Wednesday (mandatory) and 1 (one) additional day during the work week.
Supervisory Responsibilities:· Senior Education and Speaker Manager, Education and Professional Development
Duties/Responsibilities:· Serves as a strategic partner to the Executive and Leadership teams to define association priorities and develop, design, and implement education strategy and offerings using the best value/latest technology. · Supervise coordination between the Sr. Manager and the Business Analyst to facilitate the review and analysis of data associated with the ASMC education, training, and professional development activities toward maximizing benefit to ASMC members and the overall defense financial management community. · Assists in the development of the annual budget for revenue and expenses associated with the ASMC training and education program; Monitors performance against budget and makes course corrections as necessary. · Develop and track all contracts associated with the ASMC education, training, and professional development (excluding testing) program. · Prepares and presents reports, lessons learned, and future opportunities from executed ASMC virtual programs. · Ensure NASBA accreditation is maintained, manage communications, and regularly audit partner-delivered courses for standards of instructional quality. · Build relationships with external organizations and business partners to leverage training and development practices and resources.

Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation, consultative, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish respect, credibility, trust, and productive relationships with objectivity, discretion, sound judgment, and diplomacy at all levels of the association.
- Well-versed in assessment tools, training curriculums, and leveraging multiple delivery methods (ILT, VILT, video, online, etc.) to ensure training is easily consumable and impactful.
- Strong understanding of leadership theories, adult learning practices, training methodologies, and relevant technologies.
- Ability, interest, and desire to stay current via seminars, industry literature, and formal training and development as an individual and for the team.
- Ability to reliably commute and work onsite on Wednesday and one other day in our Arlington, VA office.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred and a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in education and professional development. Preference will be given to applicants with U.S. military school experience in teaching or training.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
- Microsoft Office 365 and related Apps.
- CPTD Certification preferred or similar
- Knowledge of general or government accounting principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with American Military Command Structure is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May be asked to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
