Position Summary:
American’s Accounting Admin is an individual contributor who performs entry to moderate level Accounting activities following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support the Accounting Department.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensures timely and accurate processing of Chassis and Per Diem bills
· Interacts with vendors and department managers when seeking resolution of account discrepancies
· Responsible for weekly / monthly reconciliations of assigned accounts
· Maintains accounting department files and records
· Create and run reports as required
· AP Entries
· Generate a high volume of customer invoices for payment.
· Follow-up on all requests from customers for additional information & submit
· Work with multiple accounting systems while demonstrating an understanding of the interrelationships of the data.
· Complete weekly driver and agency settlements
· Assist with month end close as necessary
· Resolves and responds to issues within the TMS system.
· Resolves vendor calls, voice mails, e-mailed correspondence, and general questions for the Accounting department
· Performs other duties and works on special projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
1-year certificate from college or technical school with a minimum of one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting. Other relevant experience should include:
· Knowledge of general accounting principles and guidelines.
· Must be a self-starter with the ability to work somewhat independently
· Must demonstrate good time management skills.
· Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
· Must possess excellent customer service skills.
· Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.
· Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
· Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management.
· Must have the ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
