What are the responsibilities and job description for the B2B Marketing Manager position at American Water?
HOS employs a B2B2C marketing model. The B2B Marketing Manager will support the Business Development team within HOS to meet their goals and organizational objectives. This will include planning and executing initiatives to create prospects and move them through the sales funnel, aligning and leading cross-functional teams to develop successful partnership proposals, leading B2B social media and assisting with sales outreach.
Key Accountabilities:
Engagement Strategy
Develop and implement a B2B marketing plan building an optimal mix of media and content designed to accelerate the sales funnel to achieve growth goals while improving the quality and efficiency of the sales process.
With internal and external resources, build the marketing toolbox including sales collateral, white papers, articles, social media (LinkedIn) events, digital and direct mail to provide ongoing sales engagement moving prospects from active to engaged to partner.
Create, evaluate or collaborate on content projects including website content; supervise internal or external resources to ensure both brand standards, content objectives and timelines are met.
Recommend and build trade show/event calendar; support all show tactics including branding, pre-show and post-show communications, events, and booth staffing and equipment.
Proposal Management
Own and provide strategic direction for Request for Proposal process by identifying and managing cross-functional team needed to deliver proposal: managing product timelines, participating in and driving key cross-functional meetings and proposal production including review/editing of actual proposal as well as delivery.
Assist Business Development Managers in creating proposal templates, specific proposals and tools as needed to elicit engagement and drive partner acquisition.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related disciple required. MBA preferred.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., tact/diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation, ability to motivate, negotiate others).
Strong project management skills including a demonstrated ability to create and achieve goals and objectives.
Problem solving and decision-making.
Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of marketing processes, creative and marketing campaign execution (traditional and digital) including media placement, lifecycle management and new business generation.
Solid knowledge of marketing and sales concepts, practices and procedures.
Experience : 7 years of demonstrated B2B marketing experience. Experience with trade shows a plus.
Work Environment: Office Environment; hybrid schedule (3 days in office)
Travel Requirements: 15%
