Job Description
Purpose:
Responsible for the continuous improve of equipment uptime and first pass yield to include:
Essential Functions:
1. Spray application equipment - diagnose issues and oversee repair -- develop tracking and preventative/predictive maintenance
2. Maintain control over all aspects of fluid delivery -- pumps, regulators, valves, etc.
3. Sanding -- specify material used for both automatic and hand systems-- vendor review -- training -- tracking
4. Operator equipment training -- develop and update materials used as they relate to equipment. Oversee training of new operators if required.
5. Assist maintenance with complex electrical or mechanical problems when support is required
6. Insure proper filing of all technical documents related to finishing (i.e. -electrical prints and PLC/VFD programs)
7. Oversee/perform machine upgrades - electrical/mechanical as required to improve uptime or first pass yield.
8. Provide constant upgrades (and training to maintenance) on PM system -- based on experience gained
9. Lead improvements to predictive maintenance program -- vibration analysis, thermograph, amp draw graphing, etc.
10. Compressed air issues as they relate to spray finishing and machine performance
11. Actively participate on assigned teams and/or projects.
12. Ensures Policies are followed and provides guidance
13. Support and represent company as a union-free environment
14. Provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping.
15. Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
16. Role model CITE and Working in Teams principles
17. Perform other tasks as directed by direct supervisor
Supervision Responsibilities:
This position may have responsibility for less then 4 direct reports.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related discipline with clear electrical training or experience;
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience with large process systems – spray finishing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working directly on the plant floor with process equipment developing process controls
- Track record of successful project management
- Experience in working in a team environment
- Strong planning/Organization & Time Management skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
