What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creditor Research & Resolutions position at Americor?
Creditor Research & Resolution Specialists are responsible for working directly with creditors to build rapport and obtain the best settlements for our clients' unsecured debt. They specifically handle a pipeline of broken or defaulted settlements. They research the settlement information and work with the creditors to resettle the accounts. They manage client documentation, work under deadlines, and provide outstanding customer service to the clients, creditors, and internal departments.
Responsibilities:
- Contacts creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices to renegotiate or save a broken or defaulted settlement on delinquent and/or charged off accounts on behalf of our clients
- Provides outstanding customer service to Clients, de-escalating difficult situations and providing support for them as they deal with Creditors
- Reviews broken or defaulted settlements, and conducts research to uncover the issues, solve the problem, and work to save the settlement or resettle the account
- Builds great rapport with the creditors, collection agencies and attorney offices using outstanding skills of communication, tact and persuasion with the goal of obtaining the best settlement for our clients
- Effectively manages an open queue of accounts to consistently hit monthly production goals
- Utilizes resources effectively along with critical thinking skills. Also utilizes multi-tasking, prioritization and organizational skills to work through the account queue
- Calculates acceptable settlement amounts according to guidelines set forth by the department using outstanding math skills to look at various settlement options in a variety of situations
- Reviews client accounts to determine availability of funds
- Gathers and submits required documentation for approval and payment of settlements and fees
- Reviews settlement letters for accuracy
- Champions teamwork and collaboration, but can also work well independently
- Maintains professionalism; reliable, punctual, tactful, considerate of others, and practices open communication
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with debt settlement negotiations, collections, mortgage loan processing or customer service
- Debt Settlement negotiations experience preferred
- Sales experience a plus
- Ability to Influence, persuade, and close deals
- Mortgage operations experience helpful
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to de-escalate difficult situations calmly and effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great attention to detail, with the ability to properly apply policies and procedures to various situations
- Highly developed sense of integrity with the ability to effectively work under minimal supervision
- Superior time management, multitasking and organizational skills; able to work under deadline constraints while completing work accurately and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and use good judgment to get the job done
- A strong work ethic, being flexible, and adaptable with a positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done
- Technically savvy: Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs, Intermediate computer literacy skills with the ability to effectively type 30-40 wpm
- Self-motivated desire to succeed with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
