Boys & Girls Clubs in Maryland are on the precipice of exponential growth thanks to a $10M investment over three years by the Governor’s Office with the goal to expand Boys & Girls Clubs to every county in Maryland and serve 45,000 young people. As the lead agency on the state grant, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore will need outstanding data collection and analysis with which to drive decisions and monitor effectiveness. Our VISTA service member will build on the existing foundation of data collection and evaluation to create an even more robust system for collecting, managing, evaluating and leveraging data as we grow into new communities and deepen our impact in the communities we already serve.
Member Duties : KEY ROLES: 1) Collect data on Club sites: the VISTA will accomplish this goal by developing data collection methods to track and use for internal and external use. 2) Data management: the VISTA will accomplish this goal by managing the data collection at the Club sites using KidsTrax and working with Club Managers (staff) to assure accurate information is collected and inserted into the system. 3) Measure outcomes in academic success, good character & citizenship and healthy lifestyles: the VISTA will accomplish this goal by creating systems that show the impact of the three priority outcomes for internal and external use. 4) Evaluation of Club performance: the VISTA will accomplish this goal by analyzing data to help determine BGCMB impact. 5) Story-telling using data: the VISTA will accomplish this goal by collaborating with BGCMB staff to use the collected data to tell compelling stories about the organization for external use.
