What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACAM Training Program VISTA, OneStar position at Americorps?
ACAM Training Program VISTA, OneStar
Alliance of Community Assistance Ministries (ACAM) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and a nationally recognized management support organization (MSO) that strengthens and convenes a network of faith-based nonprofits serving low-income families. The 200,000 individuals served each year by ACAM's Network are among the most vulnerable in our region. 99% of clients are in the spectrum of low-income with 75% in the lowest bracket, "extremely low income." To strengthen the ACAM network and Houston's wider social services safety net, ACAM provides a Training & Networking program to promote best practices, peer learning, and information exchange. Through the program ACAM members, funders, and community partners build relationships, learn from each other, and grow together to better plan for and coordinate services. This collaborative learning environment allows each organization to focus on their core competencies while gleaning insights from other social service providers. Training sessions cover five core areas (executive leadership, volunteer management, program development, resource development, and thrift store management) and include topics such as motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, volunteer engagement through social media, and family resiliency and financial coaching. The Training Coordinator VISTA will systematize existing policies and procedures to maximize program effectiveness, optimize data collection and program reporting processes, and expand the program to heighten capacity for new collaborations which address poverty and homelessness. Virtual or in-person service available. VISTA members must live within the commuting area of Houston. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
