About the position
We are seeking an enthusiastic Marketing and Communications Coordinator to create and disseminate engaging marketing materials, produce and manage online training events and create compelling content for organization initiatives. We are a small team that highly values collaboration. The ideal candidate for this position will be excited to take on new challenges and enjoy work environments with opportunities for project ownership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years experience working in communications, marketing, or a related field.
Experience in an association or not-for-profit environment is preferred. This is a remote work position. Travel will be required 1-2 times per year.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented and ability to execute multiple responsibilities effectively and efficiently within time-sensitive deadlines
- Excellent technology skills, including fluency with Zoom, InDesign, Wordpress, Squadcast, Canva and social media platforms
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and create digital and print marketing projects

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Educational Activities
- Manages all aspects of production of educational activities, such as podcasts, recorded webinars, live webinars and toolkits by utilizing necessary technology, creating and editing content and posting/hosting content.
- Works closely with and provides logistical details and guidance to all educational event participants and secures necessary information for event promotion
- Closely monitors and ensures compliance with guidelines for grant funded projects and initiatives
- Attends annual conference and assists with attendee check-in, membership processing, and onsite confirmation of logistics such meeting space set-up and audio-visual requirements or the equivalent virtual functions if an in-person event isn’t possible
Website and Social Media
- Implements website design edits to increase visual appeal and engagement
- Creates, manages and updates all content and forms on the AMERSA website and troubleshoots issues as needed
- Develops and posts regular content for social media channels and works with AMERSA’s social media influencers to increase engagement
Graphic Design and AMERSA Event Collateral
- Conceptualize and execute digital and print marketing and conference collateral such as logos, calls for conference submissions, sponsorship and exhibitor packets, conference program, conference signage, membership campaigns, fundraising campaigns, toolkits, etc.
- Coordinates and prompts regular communications, including creation of newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials, for distribution to current and prospective AMERSA members
- Sources and orders all print promotional materials
Substance Use & Addiction Journal (SAj)
- Develops and distributes marketing content for SAj, including weekly blog posts, SAj website updates, and social media posts
- Collaborates with publisher on opportunities for promotion of journal content and other organizational or journal-related advertising
