Ames Community School District is seeking a Crossing Guard for the 2023-24 school year. 

Work Schedule: Approximately 90 minutes per day (7:00am-7:45am and 2:30pm-3:15pm)

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations in assistance of all students, including those with disabilities or special needs.
• Performs crossing guard duty daily.
• Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
• Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• Display patience and compassion and maintain a caring and helpful relationship with children.
• Demonstrate the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
• Previous experience working with students preferred.
• Display a basic understanding of the needs of children.
• Demonstrate initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and respond accordingly.

Hourly Pay Rate: $13.60 per hour
