What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Cad/Survey Party Chief position at AMES CONSTRUCTION?
We have an opportunity for an AutoCAD Technician and Surveyor located out of our Rocky Mountain office in Aurora, CO. This position will assist with surveying disciplines at projects throughout Colorado and surrounding states. The Technician will provide assistance with preparing computer-generated survey drawings/models, according to established standards and procedures, from field collected data on a variety of large construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafts field survey data to finished product
- Prepare as-built drawings
- Assists with office processing, checking and processing field information
- Follows and comprehends the company’s standard CAD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout
- Maintain project files and ensure CAD standards to improve productivity and interchange of CAD documents.
- Assist Survey Manager, and Project Managers with preparation of quantities, cost estimates, and project submittals
- Other duties as assigned
Experience, Education & Skills
- 1-2 year experience with CAD software packages
- 1 year experience of surveying
- Knowledge of Trimble Access/Trimble Business Center/Trimble Stratus
- Ability to gather and analyze data as well as prepare clear and concise notes
- Possess appropriate discretion and is sensitive to confidentiality
- Demonstrate high ethical standards, consistency, and accuracy in work
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Dependability, organization, and adaptability skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- ADOT and DOT experience preferred
- Travel required
Working Conditions
- Location – The position is located out of the Rocky Mountain office in Aurora, CO, and may travel to projects throughout Colorado and surrounding states.
- Office Environment – Extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
- Construction Site Environment – Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels, dust and weather elements.
- Construction Site Office Environment – Sit at desk and computer; bending at the waist, and ability to lift 5-30 pounds occasionally.
