Description
Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh copper raw materials for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Will use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
Accountabilities:
· Evaluate quality of materials or products.
· Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information.
· Measure metallurgical makeup to verify conformance to specifications.
· Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
· Monitor test equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.
· Calíbrate equipment to specifications.
· Test chemical or physical characteristics of materials or products.
· Analyze test results, and record data.
· Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
· Connect electrical components or equipment.
· Instruct workers to use equipment or perform technical procedures.
· Collect samples of materials or products for testing.
· Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading.
· Stack finished items for further processing or shipment.
Requirements
Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for Position:
· Previous experience in a test lab environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Sharp focus and drive for accurate results
· Ability to develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles preferred
Education:
High School education or equivalent. Experience in a test lab environment a plus.
