Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Completes carpentry-related repairs, maintenance, and remodeling work as assigned including floor tile, ceiling tile, sheetrock patching/repairs, painting, and furniture.
- Coordinates and moves staff and curriculum materials to other sites.
- Operates forklift, man lift.
- Secures necessary materials, tools, and equipment to complete projects.
- Keeps tools maintained and organized.
- Operates assigned vehicles.
- Plows snow.
- Estimates, purchases, and procures materials, parts, and equipment as necessary to complete assigned repairs.
- Subs as a custodian as assigned.
- Creates a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for staff.
- Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role preferred.
- Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures.
- Frequent lifting, bending, carrying, and moving heavy objects such as furniture and boxes of curriculum materials.
- Ability to read, interpret, understand, and implement communications both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills using email, spreadsheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Internet preferred.
- Willingness to work with others and to work as a team member.
- Well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks and have effective problem solving skills.
- Willingness and availability to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and, holidays as needed.
