Accountant (Direct Hire)

As an Accountant in the Financial Reporting Branch at Ames Research Center, you will perform accounting assignments, internal controls, fund balance with treasury, validations, transactions, and analyze reports impacting NASA Centers. You will perform daily and monthly reconciliations, design processes for effective internal controls, and ensure the integrity of financial information while complying with applicable accounting standards, Federal regulations, and NASA policy.

Qualifications:

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-09, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level:

• Performing operational accounting and financial management functions that includes reviewing and analyzing accounting transactions and/or the validation and reconciliation of accounting data;
• Processing or researching financial data within Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) or other financial business systems; and
• Applying and adhering to accounting and auditing policies and regulations.

OR
b) Completed all requirements for a master's or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field
OR
c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field
OR
d) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above
