Internal Controls Analyst

AmesburyTruth is looking for an Internal Controls Analyst to join our team! As the Internal Controls Analyst you will evaluate and refine the division’s internal controls framework. This includes documenting processes and policy development, performing internal control procedures, performing top-down risk assessment, assessing the design of overall controls framework, managing remediation of control deficiencies, and conducting risk-based balance sheet reviews across entities.

Job Duties

• Develop and update process documentation utilizing Microsoft Visio, Word, and/or Excel.
• Partner with management in the identification and implementation of process and control improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and the efficiency of the Company’s business process controls.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to internal controls over financial accounting and reporting.
• Monitor internal control processes and prepare formal gap analysis while coordinating remediation plans with the business.
• Participate in internal and external audits; track and monitor reported deficiencies to ensure timely correction.
• Work with control owners to establish remediation actions and follow up to ensure completeness.
• Seek improvements in the Company’s control environment to improve effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Identifies risks and suggests controls to be implemented to mitigate the risks.
• Design or improve processes to provide business finance leaders with better visibility into financial data trends, risks, and other analytical insights
• Plan and perform risk-based balance sheet reviews to ensure Policy compliance.
• Coordination of Rep Letters and Management Certifications and ensure that Corporate Policies are communicated, including any changes/updates.
• Delivers relevant expertise and guidance for control execution to control owners.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA/CIA preferred
• 5 - 7 years of directly related experience in both public and private accounting with a combination of at least three years of internal controls, audit, or risk management experience.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to understand accounting and financial processes related to manufacturing operations and to develop working relationships with all involved.
• Strong technical experience as well as ability to communicate and interact with associates at all levels is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement and change management
• Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and can take an enterprise view beyond an individual site or plant
