Summary
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day execution of project related tasks, and ensure shipment of high-quality optical products to customers, on time and within budget. The Technical Project Manager will lead and coordinate cross functional teams, apply project management skills to effectively manage, plan and control all development activities.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Provide executive-level project status reporting internally and to clients
- Strengthen the collaboration of team members to optimize team performance
- Minimize exposure and risk on the project through project governance policies; resolve and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- Ensure project documents are accurate, complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Confirm timely and accurate reporting of team hours and expenses on a weekly basis
- Anticipate and identify issues that may prevent success and develop corrective actions
- With assigned engagement lead, consult clients on implementation approach, project phasing , and risk management strategies
- Hold regular staff meetings that are productive and informative for all attendees
- Provide thought leadership and strategic influence to internal and external stakeholders
- May serve as a delivery lead for highly complex programs supported by multiple project managers and/or workstream leads
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to represent Zygo in front of clients, even in situations where the implementation work is beyond your area of personal experience
- High degree of initiative, motivation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent planning, forecasting, financial project budget responsibility and organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills that allow you to read situations quickly, manage expectations, and act with authority
- Known for ability to develop quick rapport and build consensus on teams with often conflicting priorities
- Highly skilled in the development of engaging, informative, and well-organized presentations that effectively communicate crucial project-related information
- Builds effective risk mitigation plans, processes and communications
- Inquisitive mind-set with strong desire to find creative solutions to difficult staffing, prioritization and technological project issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Candidates with PMP Certification is required.
