We are looking for a knowledgeable Shipping Clerk who would be responsible for verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments and for preparing items for shipment.
Responsibilities:
• Run daily shipping report.
• Verify all shippers are created for the day, making sure none have been added since last report was run.
• Pull materials and package for current day shipment.
• Create BOL and labels for shipments.
• Get rate quotes and schedule pick-up.
• Prepare any other documentations that may be required for shipment.
• Confirm Shippers.
• Run shipping report 5 days out and create shippers to scan to PM and PE for approval.
• Revise shippers as needed.
• Retrieve shipping quotes for PM, PE, and sales on potential orders.
• Advise crate sizes for upcoming shipments.
• Advise truck requirements for upcoming shipments.
• Advise container requirements for international shipments.
• Pre-package upcoming shipments for inspection and provide weights and dimensions for international and domestic orders.
• Monitor and maintain shipping supplies.
• Monitor gate for incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Load and unload trucks/containers.
• Maintain relationship with and negotiate carrier discounts.
• Help maintain inventory.
• Issue supplies from tool cage.
• Sharpen tungsten.
• Make runs per pickup and delivery request.
• Make small parcel and occasionally freight deliveries to local shipping hubs for rush orders.
• Transfer prepacked inventory items to location 50 for inventory.
• Assist in Receiving.
• Operate crane as needed (Ametek certified).
• Assist in other departments as needed.
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training
