Job Summary:
AMF Bakery Systems is looking for a motivated and self-driven Assembly Coordinator to support the Assembly and Checkout operations. The Assembly Coordinator is responsible for the distribution and preparation of critical materials to the Assembly teams, as well as performing proactive analysis of risks to parts availability and driving countermeasures to allow for efficient assembly and on-time completion of machines.
This role will report to the Operations Team Lead of the respective Product Group.
How You Will Impact AMF:
The Assembly Coordinator will be the key linkage between the Stock Room (parts supply), The Procurement team, the Richmond Machine Shop, and Assembly. The impact on AMF will be determined by the teammate's skills in collaborating with the Assembly, prioritizing needs, and sharing those needs with Supply Chain partners. In addition, this role is seen as developmental in nature, and will therefore assist with various forms of mechanical and electrical assembly as time permits.
Specifically, the Assembly Coordinator will:
- Reduce machine cycle time on the floor by facilitating faster builds
- Reduce charged hours to machines by improving parts availability
- Reduce lost parts by leading efforts to properly transfer and locate parts
- Interface with the warehouse and other departments to improve material flow
- Improve quality by performing visual inspections on parts delivered
- Stay connected to priorities by participating in floor rounds with the teammates daily
- Execute engineering change notices, parts returns, and facilitate the defective material notification process.
- Organize the project area with materials, tools, signage, and documentation.
What Do You Need to Succeed (Included, but not limited to):
- Some experience in warehousing or stockroom activities
- Ability to use computer programs including MS Office and enterprise management systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.
- Ability to comprehend and execute verbal, written, and drawn instructions (e.g., engineering control drawings and/or schematics)
- Comfortable working with hands to handle parts up to 50 lbs. and willing to perform basic assembly
- Can work and communicate effectively with different people and teams
- Have or be able to obtain a fork truck certification
- No degree required
Working Conditions:
- Typical manufacturing facility conditions.
- Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) working conditions
- Teammates must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours. Kneeling, squatting, bending over, and standing for long periods of time may be required to perform assigned tasks.
- Can occasionally be loud, especially in local areas where grinding or machine testing is taking place. Earplugs are provided, but not required
Other:
- Able to provide basic tools a plus. The list of teammates provided tools includes but is not limited to box/open end/socket wrench sets, Allen wrench set, screwdriver set, tap handles, pliers, combination square, 9" level, and tape measure. English and metric tool sets are recommended. A lockable toolbox is also recommended.
- Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required
- Long pants and a sleeved shirt (short sleeve at a minimum) are required

Salary : $33,200 - $42,000
