The Pre-pivotal Drug Product Group within the Process Development Department is seeking a highly motivated graduate student for a summer internship. The intern will work on the project related to liposome and LNP formulations to test on both internal and benchmark products. The intern will focus on designing and preparing these formulations, identifying key physical and chemical characterization techniques to determine critical quality attributes and optimize process conditions.
Responsibilities Include:
• Conduct the experiments to prepare and characterize the formulations
• Data analysis to determine improvements resulting from process related to critical quality attributes
• Draft technical reports and provide both poster and oral presentations for project progress
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Degree Concentration(s) in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biomedical and chemical engineering or a related discipline
Familiar with liposome and LNP formulations and characterization of nano-particles is highly desired
Strong oral and written communication skills
