The Manager Income Tax is responsible for reviewing and preparing all United States federal and state tax returns, related schedules, extensions, projections, and reports. This position also coordinates with corporate accounting for the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax accruals, REIT testing and various other tax deadlines/projects.

In the states of Colorado, California, Washington, and Illinois; the anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $94,837 to $135,620 per year. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts and/or health savings accounts; dependent savings accounts; 401(k) with company matching contributions; employee stock purchase plan; and, a tuition reimbursement program. The Company provides 9 paid holidays per year and, upon hire, new employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 0.0577 hours of PTO per hour worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year.

The Manager Income Tax is responsible for reviewing and preparing all United States federal and state tax returns, related schedules, extensions, projections, and reports. Responsibilities
- Reviews domestic tax return related schedules and workpapers.
- Reviews information necessary to support with and conduct REIT Testing and other quarterly tax accounting functions
- Leads the gathering of information from various accounting groups to prepare tax returns, tax extensions, and projections.
- Reviews tax withholding relating to Partnership income
- Performs review of quarterly and annual domestic tax provisions.
- Coordinates and assists with Internal Revenue Service (IRS), State and local tax audits.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of direct reports; manages, trains, and coaches direct reports while guiding them to reach their potential and providing constructive feedback for employee development; acts as a subject matter expert to provide guidance; handles escalated issues to improve compliance, build relationships effective working relationships; uses proven critical thinking and judgment skills in alignment with department and company policies.
- Perform tax research, as assigned
- Perform special tax projects, as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Minimum of five (5) years of corporate income tax experience in public accounting and/or a multinational corporate tax department
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, managing direct reports
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook. PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Intermediate knowledge of Tax Compliance Software
- Master’s in Taxation or CPA certification preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Tax Compliance software preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills preferred
- Possess leadership, employee development, appraisal, relationship management and problem-solving skills preferred
