Amica Life in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide exceptional customer service by handling telephone contact calls involving routine policy changes to their conclusion.
The selected individual will gain a good understanding of policy procedures, systems, and policy contractual provisions and foster a team approach to promote outstanding customer service.
SalaryA starting annual salary of $41,053 ($21.05 per hour).
The work schedule is 37.5 hours per week. Training for this position will be Monday through Friday between the core hours of 9:00am and 5:15pm.
After training is complete, the schedule will be based on business needs with a start time between be 8:00 am and 10:45am Monday through Friday with the potential to work holidays and a few Saturdays per year.
ResponsibilitiesBecome proficient in all aspects of Amica Life products and services within 6 months of entering position
Become proficient with routine coverage, financial, and policy maintenance changes within 6 months of entering position
Handle questions and policy inquiries from customers, in accordance with level of knowledge
Recommend appropriate solutions, procedures, and actions for customers, in accordance with level of knowledge
Handle other customer requests as necessary
Work to meet and strives to exceed sales/service goals determined by supervisor, which include, in part, call quality, lead referrals, average call length, attendance, and schedule adherence
Assist occasionally with system testing
May be called upon to handle other duties as required
Qualifications
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Able to use a personal computer, mouse and keyboard with proficiency
Basic Web navigation skills and experience
Professional and enthusiastic, with a pleasant telephone manner
Effective active listening skills required
Able to probe effectively to ensure appropriate resolution using basic customer service skills, such as empathy, willing and helpful demeanor, and ability to resolve inquiries
Knowledge of company products, services, and marketing campaigns
Able to multi-task (data entry while handling calls)
Strong communication, organization and time management skills
Able to maintain composure and to deal with customers under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong verbal communications skills including diction, grammar and tone
Strong written communication skills
Able to handle confidential information
1-2 years previous Customer Service, retail or customer-facing experience desired
