JOB SUMMARY:
Drives van to pick up clients at their residence to transport to the Senior Centers and transports the clients back to their residence after Senior Center activities. Assists with cleaning and general maintenance activities at the Senior Center. May assist with home meal deliveries as assigned by the Senior Center Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives van over assigned route and assists clients into and out of van.
Performs work activities following agency safety regulations and complies with traffic laws and regulations; renders aid to passengers.
Inspects van and performs preventive and/or routine maintenance before and after leaving the center.
Cleans the vehicle and reports to supervisor any discrepancies.
Listens to and reports client complaints to supervisor and reports any abnormal conditions observed at client’s homes.
Records any information and completes vehicle maintenance daily reports to be submitted to the Senior Center Manager.
Will assist Center Manager packaging or serving food to be delivered or served at the Center.
Will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists with cleaning and general maintenance activities at the Senior Center. Including but not limited to sweeping and mopping the Center. Cleaning the Center Bathrooms at least to (2) times a day and ensuring tissue paper and paper towels are available.
In the absence of Center Manager and/or Home Meal Deliverer, performs meal deliveries and ensures the prepared meal is delivered to homebound elderly in hand and/or face to face at all times.
In the absence of the Center Manager will be responsible for washing and or cleaning kitchen area including any pots or pans used.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current Class C commercial driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as required may be required by insurance carrier.
Must have own reliable transportation and possess personal auto liability insurance.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to perform these operations using weight, measurement, volume, and distance.
