SUMMARY OF POSITION

Amirah, Inc. exists to provide aftercare, resources, and opportunities to women who have survived different forms of sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, and prostitution. The Residential Program of Amirah in Connecticut is a supportive transitional home that is intended for women who have exited the commercial sex trade and are seeking continued support while they strive towards independence. The Case Manager is a key member of the Residential Program team in Connecticut.

Reporting to the Transitional Program Director, the Case Manager works within a team dynamic to provide trauma-informed support for survivors of sexual exploitation who are living in their own suite-apartments in the safe home in the Greater Hartford area of Connecticut. They provide access to resources based on an individual's needs, bringing an atmosphere of healing and community. They are a vital part of each participant striving towards full independent living.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Home Program

  • Biweekly individual case management meetings with each program participant as needed (max of 7 participants at a time) to assess how she is progressing towards her independence goals and to help provide access to resources so she can achieve her goals.
  • Provide direct services to program participants as needed using an individual care plan that has been written by the participant in collaboration with the program staff.
  • Provide support to program participants as they navigate resources, helping them to problem solve when access is denied.
  • Follow procedures for program policies (data entry, ability to take notes for client files, etc.).
  • Carry out all assignments designated by the Director of Programs.
  • In collaboration with the Home Manager, co-facilitate the weekly house meeting.
  • Tend to the needs of the program participants should you be the sole program staff member in the home.
  • Ensure that all case records are maintained in compliance with Federal, State and Organizational standards for each program participant.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs and the Program Compliance and Evaluation Officer to track appropriate data and assigned tasks related to program evaluation.
  • Report all spending to the House Manager of the Greater Hartford safe home in conjunction with the allotted program budget.
  • Rotate into the on-call schedule for the home.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Follower of Christ, committed to His church and message of the transformative love of Jesus that was displayed on the cross.
  • All candidates should have Case Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work or similar field required.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Lived experience welcomed.
  • Valid driver’s license with vehicle.
  • Knowledge of sex trafficking/commercial sexual exploitation and experience working in this field preferred.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and high level of service.
  • Passionate about Amirah’s work; able to communicate and promote the philosophy, mission, and value of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work in an independent environment as well as working with a strong collaborative team-based program.

TIME COMMITMENT

This is a full time position with participation in the on-call rotation.

BENEFITS

Amirah provides the following benefits for this position:

  • Every quarter a full week of vacation taken within that three month period (four weeks total given each year). Amirah operates on a work-rest rhythm for all staff members.
  • Every quarter, one personal spiritual retreat day is given. This is one day given to take as seen fit to connect with God, to rest, and to restore for this work.
  • Eligible for health insurance package.
  • Accumulated sick time is given up to forty (40) hours a year.
  • Weekly clinical supervision support given by Amirah’s licensed clinical staff towards licensure requirements.
  • Monthly group supervision support outside of Amirah.
  • Paid holidays on New Year’s Day, MLK, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
At this time, we are asking that all staff are vaccinated, unless there is a proven medical reason. We are also following masking guidelines for each county and city that we operate in. These two things are non-negotiable.
